Hello Firstname

Wednesday, 11 May
Our speaker next Wednesday is Paul Wenham-Clarke who will be presenting his talk entitled The Westway and Other Stories. In this talk by a multi award winning photographer, Paul's fascinating photo essays include details of life under the A40 flyover, London.
You can see some of Paul's work by visiting his website at www.wenhamclarke.com/

Digital Imaging Group
The monthly meeting of the DI Group takes place next Monday, 9 May. Our illustrious leader, Ashwin, is away sunning himself in 44 degree temperatures in India, so the evening will be run by yours truly ably assisted by Mike Bigger.
As usual, all members are welcome, especially if they come bearing prints or USB memory sticks containing photos. These can be just "show off" pictures to show everyone what you've been up to since the last meeting or pictures that you would like a bit of advice or help with.
Ashwin has made sure that you won't go short of biscuits, he's left a secret stash that only Mike & I know the whereabouts of!

Annual Print Competition
Next Wednesday is the closing date for the Annual Print Competition which this year is being judged by Paul Keene FRPS MPAGB MFIAP EFIAP/p.

Studio Group
Nick Ball has arranged a Studio Group event with model Holly returning for a portrait session. The maximum number of photographers will be 5 per session. If there is sufficient demand there will be 2 sessions, 4.00pm to 6.00pm and 7.00pm to 9.00pm. It will help Nick if you can indicate which session will suit you best and Nick will do his best to accommodate you. The cost will be £15 for one session (any surplus will go to the studio equipment fund). This session is suitable for beginners to studio work and guidance will be available.
Please sign up using this link. When you sign up could you add a comment to the poll with your email and phone number so you can be contacted by Nick if the event is cancelled or postponed - this is highlighted because in the past people have not been doing this..

Derek Dorsett
The sad news of the death of recent BPS member Derek Dorsett has reached me. Condolences to his friends and family.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Well done to Derwood Pamphilon who has recently been awarded his DPAGB, so in future you will have to genuflect before him!

Well done also to Keith Wood for getting a Bronze Medal along with several other acceptances in the Sydney Harbour International Exhibition with his image of an Eagle Owl, reproduced here:

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

Personal Detail Changes

The distinctions we have on record are those shown at the top of this newsletter, if they are wrong, please let Carol know.
