ClassicarGarage Newsletter 39, September 8 2009 |
|
In this Newsletter we live up to the promise we made in the previous edition. Amongst others we present you a fantastic collection scarce classic Porsche sports cars! Driving and photographing these cars was an impressive event. This was the first time we drove an original 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS! Then we respectively drove a beautiful 911 2.4 S Targa, a very scarce 356 Pre A 1500 S coupe, and then a tremendous Porsche 959 super sports car!
The Porsche 959 can historically be seen as the Bugatti Veyron of the twentieth century. Both super sports cars are the technical hallmarks of their era. Driving a 959 is a very overwhelming experience. The 959 performs and drives quite similar to a 2004 911/996 GT2 previously driven by yours truly. The 959 feels a little less refined and less agile, but more racy, bold and masculine. It is a true road race car, yet comfortable and with modest luxury!
Next to all these violent horses we present a perfect 1959 Austin Healey 100/6 rally car, a perfect 1951 Jaguar Mk V Drop Head Coupe and a very scarce 1939 Cadillac 61 convertible with Fisher bodywork in unique 100% original condition!
Sincerely,
Marc Vorgers. Click the photographs to view the photo reportages immediately!
