Next Wednesday, 21 October, we are pleased to welcome Andrew Moss to our screens when he will present his talk: He Shoots, He Scores. The talk shows how Andrew shoots sports pictures that sometimes do well in competitions. He is a member of Beckenham PS and an accredited sports photographer. The talk covers how he shoots and processes his images, using mainly Lightroom. He will include a number of nature and landscape images too, in addition to talking about how he has been able to cover everything from croquet and roller derby to international rugby and netball.

To all BPS Zoomers from Bob,

I would like to thank you all for your great welcome back last Wednesday. It's nice to be with you all again.
Paula and I watched the whole competition, which we enjoyed greatly. We saw some lovely pictures and would like to congratulate all those who received awards.
We look forward to seeing you next week.

External Competitions
Mike Martin (External Competitions Secretary) has been busy during lockdown and has sent the following:
KINGSWOOD SALVER
After several years’ break, Mike has put together a panel of five images from five photographers, images being drawn from those previously submitted into club internal and external competitions. The images have to form a coherent panel on a single theme, topic, style, etc.
This competition is going to be broadcast via Zoom with live Judging on Saturday 14 November at 10.30 am. Members can watch for free on a pre-booked basis (details to follow).
Here’s our entry, wish us luck:

FIAP WORLD CUP FOR CLUBS
We have been invited to take part. This competition requires submission of 20 high resolution images (2400px min/3500px max on long edge), with each photographer submitting no more than 2 images.... it follows we’d need at least 10 different contributors.
Last year Wigan 10, Rolls Royce, Catchlight CC, Chorley and Smethwick all featured in the top 10, so perhaps its time we tried to join them?  Closing date beginning of December, so time is ticking on.

Please get involved.... Many of you have many excellent images languishing on hard drives, etc, that may not have been entered into competitions.  Mike can only select images from those that he has copies of, so he is asking every one to select 3-5 images that you feel are truly your best works, so he can expand his pool of potential entries.
Please send smaller (1200x1600px) copies initially, to mike_martin@blueyonder.co.uk – obviously nothing will get used without first seeking permission (and for this, requesting a high resolution copy).

RPS Success
Well done to Sue O'Connell and Rachel Domleo who have both done well in the RPS Western Region Monthly Competition with Sue and Rachel coming 1st and 5th respectively - well done to both. Full details here
