Native Plant Conservation Campaign News: Florida NPS publishes
Policy and Advocacy Handbook to help native plant advocates effectively engage with their state legislators.
February 11, 2020
The Florida Native Plant Society has developed a
Policy and Advocacy Handbook to help its members lobby state legislators to protect, conserve, and restore the native plants and native plant communities of Florida. The Handbook includes information on how to contact legislators from meetings to e mail, provides examples of call scripts, letters, talking points, taking legislators on field trips and much more!
The Handbook contains information that will be useful in all states and also in working with federal elected officials. It may also be a useful template for other NPSs to develop their own state-specific handbooks.
