3.  From the Treasurer...
You Ought to Be in Pictures
We are in need of fresh pictures of VOICES rehearsals. On October 30, we will have a roving photographer taking candid shots while we rehearse. These will be used on our website and Facebook page and printed materials. If you would prefer that your image not be included, please let Mike Duttweiler know so we can meet your wishes.

Any Packrats Among You?
Your Steering Committee is trying to locate a copy of the program cover depicted here. It was used for several concerts. Do you happen to have one in good condition stowed away somewhere?  If so, please loan it to Mike Duttweiler so we can scan the image.

4.  Ad Sales...
Last reminder! Friday, October 20! (TOMORROW)

This is your last newsletter reminder that Friday, October 20, is the deadline for completing sales of ads for the 2017-18 ACI program shell. We will welcome a rush of ads and checks!

If you have questions, if you have forms or checks to turn in, or if you want to bring us up to date on your progress, please contact Cindy Howell at rehearsal and me, Katy, at kkg1@cornell.edu.

Thank you for working on these sales!  They don’t just make (much needed) money: the ads in the ACI program shell demonstrate the Ithaca community’s generous support of our choruses. Only you, by selling ads, make that possible.

ACI Program Shell Coordinator

We have posted YouTube links for this semester's music and will add more links as they become available.  The files can be found on the Voices Website:

8.  Dates To Remember...
Sunday, October 29, 2018, 4:00 PM, First Congregational Church, 309 Highland Road, A Concert of Turkish Music

This music expresses the refinement of an Islamic culture in which the ideal of beauty was held as an important value, as demonstrated through its much admired architecture, calligraphy, painting and poetry. What you will hear represents the high point of a musical tradition which matured as a form whose melodic and rhythmic subtleties place it among the great musical systems of the world. The concert is open to all, a freewill offering will be accepted from those who wish to support this special opportunity.

9.  About Perfumes, Scents, Essential Oils and Garlic Around Your Neck...
Please remember to avoid wearing perfumes, colognes, essential oils and other scents to rehearsals as they create respiratory discomfort for some of our singers.

10.  Voice Exercises and Warmups...
Looking for a way to exercise your voice between rehearsals? Cyberbass is free website that has sizeable list of vocal warmups that play on your computer, smartphone or tablet. You can also purchase CD's with various exercises and warmups if you choose.  Go to
