THE WHEEL ELECTS NEW CHAIR AND TRUSTEE

The Wheel, the national association of charities, has announced that Vincent Keenan has been elected as the organisation’s new chairperson. He is succeeding Paul O’Sullivan who served as chairperson of The Wheel since 2018.

Vincent has been Chief Executive of North and East Housing Association since 2014. He has 25 years of experience in housing, homelessness, housing development, management and social and community service development. He participated in the negotiation of social partnership agreements and was appointed by the Minister of Housing to the National Homeless Consultative Committee on which he served for years. He has been a trustee of The Wheel since 2014.

The Wheel has also announced the election of a new trustee. Cherif Labreche is the CEO of New Communities Partnership, having previously been CEO and founder of both Flower Childcare Early Learning Centre and Hanine Media Development Agency. Karen Horgan has also been re-elected to the board.

The Wheel’s board of directors is responsible for overseeing its strategic direction and governance. All of our board members including the chairperson are volunteers giving their time, skills and expertise to help advance our mission. We look forward to the next stage in the organisation’s development with the skills, diversity and leadership available at board level.

The Wheel would like to extend its sincere gratitude to Paul O’Sullivan for his outstanding service as a board member since 2009 and particularly as chairperson of The Wheel between 2018 and 2021, navigating the very difficult period during the Covid-19 pandemic.
