Wednesday 13 November

Next week our speaker is Salli Gainsford FNPS (Fellow National Photographic Society), who will be presenting her talk: The Art of Learning.

Read what Salli has to say about herself and her talk:

I am a Professional Photographer and passionate educator in my field of photography, Fine Art Portraiture. With 20 years experience in conceptual portraiture and fine art, I have dedicated myself to training other photographers in this field and running events. While I teach many aspects of photography, my specialization lies in creating old masters type imagery. However, I have noticed that most people come to me for help their editing needs.
This realisation led me and my work partner Mike Baker ( A lighting Genius) on a journey to start an online platform called 'Studio Masters’. Our barn, at my home, situated in the beautiful countryside of the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk border, now functions as our main home studio where we film and shoot ideas that are broadcast onto our educational platform, 'Studio Masters'. Our content is very varied and covers everything photography-based, from the initial concept to the final printing stage, including lots of post-production work from me. Our website can be found here :- www.studiomasters.org

During my talk, I will share my journey as a photographer, starting from where I began and the failures that made my achievements more meaningful. I will also discuss the animals I have photographed over the years, from birth to the end of their lives. It has been a pleasure to be there for many highlights of their lives. I will also delve into dress-up portraiture and old masters fine art. Join me on my visit to Bristol, and let's explore a wonderful career full of joy, fun, and colour. I look forward to meeting you all and hope inspire you in some way with my talk and imagery.

Studio Masters has a Facebook group which is our free platform for photographers that are interested in what we do here – www.facebook.com/groups/202660251378401 My personal Face Book Page is here – www.facebook.com/salligainsfordphotography
