West Wales gives £150K to Celebrate UGLE Tercentenary
The Fishguard Bay Hotel was the venue for the recent Gala Dinner which celebrated the donation of an additional £150k. to local charities in West Wales. This spectacular figure, raised by Freemasons, from Freemasons, is in addition to the normal donations made by the Province to local charities. The Province played host to 54 charity representatives, most of whom were seated with their sponsoring lodge and members of local media organisations were also present for a most enjoyable evening. Tercentenary Cathedral Service 2017
The Tercentenary Cathedral Service will be held in St David's Cathedral on Sunday 2nd July 2017starting at 3.00pm. The Provincial Grand Organist W Bro Rhodri Evans will be entertaining the congregation from 2.30pm, so it is well worth getting to the cathedral early. Free refreshments will be provided for all in the cloisters after the service. The service will also include the dedication of the new ambulance bought for St John's Cymru by the Masonic Charitable Foundation. With the Past Pro Grand Master Lord Northampton in attendance, this is the must be there event of the Tercentenary! Bring all your friends and family to this very special occasion.
Abertawe Festival for Young Musicians
The AFYM exists to improve and widen music education. It provides performance opportunities and support in general for young musicians across the region. The event is part of the West Wales Grand Charity Rolling programme and has received an annual grant of £2500 since 2010. The Masonic Province of West Wales is one of the main sponsors of the event. Scouting and Freemasonry: Two Parallel Organisations - Prestonian Lecture 2012
On Friday 23rd June 2017, W Bro Tony Harvey will be delivering his Prestonian Lecture at the Kensington Lodge of Installed Masters in Llanelli. W Bro Harvey has undertaken extensive research, introduced substantial original material and developed new insights. His Lecture will interest all Freemasons who have been Scouts, as well as those concerned with Freemasonry’s future and especially its links with local communities. All Masons in the Province are invited to attend this unique occasion. Please be aware that you do not have to be an Installed Master to come along.
