A RECIPE FOR THANKSGIVING - #404
From the kitchen of: My Triune God
Serving size: Family
Recipe for: "The LORD sets the Table"
Ingredients:
Psalm 145:15-16, "The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing." - Matthew 4:4, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" - John 6:35, "And Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.'"
Personal Notes:
I love this recipe and wanted to share it with you because it reminds me that the LORD will take care of everything, even the little things.
Instructions:
First, measure a couple cups from Psalm 145. Notice that all you need for your physical life is satisfied. God the Father fully satisfies when He gives you ALL the ingredients for life from His good and loving hand.
Second, take 4:4 from Matthew. You should remember that the Holy Spirit teaches you that this is the only petition in the Lord's Prayer that has anything to do with your physical needs. Is the ratio important?
Third, use 6:35 from John for the finishing touches. Jesus is the finishing touch on setting God's table for you. In Him is all you truly need. His nourishment will sustain you forever. In these ingredients and instructions from your Father you'll taste and see that the recipe for "The LORD sets the Table" is satisfying! God serves you--perfectly!
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours now and forever.
Amen.
