What better way to enjoy the English Summer time than taking yourself into a darkened room for 16 hours a day and fiddling around with guitar pedals. Last month we began the process of recording our next album! We have allowed ourselves some exposure to the sun though and in our lunch breaks we discovered a field of foals next to the studio and a pub serving cherry cider and Kentish 'Hufkins'.
But our forthcoming expeditions are not going to be limited to strolls to the pony field and cherry cider runs. We are really delighted to announce that we will be embarking on a special tour this autumn, playing old Smoke Fairies songs from 'Ghosts' which will be released as a double-disc CD in conjunction with the tour.
'Ghosts' combines all our early recordings from 2007–08, when we first moved up to London. Like the limited edition US vinyl, released by 453 in 2010, the first disc, 'Ghosts I' features our first releases, the singles 'Living with Ghosts' and 'Sunshine' and the Frozen Heart EP. The second disc, 'Ghosts II', is made up of unreleased tracks such as Tonight, Another Night, The Road Is Long and Bones.
