John 10:9-10 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
LIFE TO THE FULL
Jesus is not a thief or a robber. He does not come to hurt His flock. He does not come and lead it astray by being ignorant of the truth, or deceitful, or malicious so that the sheep shipwreck their souls. He comes not to take anything away from us -- not to take away our "fun" or to make our lives more difficult -- but rather to give us a soft place to land when we are stung by the realities of sin, guilt, and death which cause so much trouble for us every day.
"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full," He says. Follow this One, dear Christians. Follow the right Shepherd!
Jesus, shepherd of the sheep,
Who Thy Father's flock dost keep,
Safe we wake and safe we sleep,
Guarded still by Thee.
Father, draw us to Thy Son;
We with joy will follow on
Till the work of grace is done,
And from sin set free.
We in robes of glory dressed,
Join the assembly of the blest,
Gathered to eternal rest,
In the fold with Thee.
