“I’ve fallen hopelessly in love with Sharon Van Etten” Tom Ravenscroft, NME
“a beauty that accomplishes in just five minutes what most songwriters fail to find in years of trying” Fader
“Van Etten stands alone… Even at it’s bleakest, there is something redemptive about Van Etten’s songs” The Times
Sharon has been incredibly busy in the last year - from opening the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival to singing with The Antlers at Radio City Music Hall and on the new Beirut album, The Rip Tide.
A consistent touring force, Sharon has done her own headlining tour and shared the stage with Junip in the U.S., The National in Europe, played select shows with Iron & Wine as well as collaborating with Justin Vernon and Megafaun for the Songs of the South project. Having played Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, and MusicNow, Sharon is also scheduled to perform at Bumbershoot, Musicfest NW and a special show at the Hollywood Bowl with The National and Neko Case later this year.
Currently hard at work recording with The National’s Aaron Dessner, who is producing her third full-length, Sharon is just getting started. News of her first album on Jagjaguwar will be shared in the coming months, and from what we’ve heard, she has something seriously special in the works.
