SURREY SCOUT WATER ACTIVITIES CLUB

Moving Water Weekend North Wales 7th to 9th September 2018

Hi ,

SSWAC have arranged a moving water weekend in North Wales. Subject to the water release the intention will be to paddle the river Tryweryn. If there is no dam release then we will look at the levels on the Dee or other rivers in North Wales.

The Bala Bunkhouse has been booked and there is limited availability for this trip so early response to this email is advisable to avoid disappointment. If you are interested please contact me and I will confirm acceptance and full payment will need to be paid in advance of the trip once confirmed.

Trip Information
The trip is run under Scout POR and therefore nights away and adults taking part in adventurous activities will apply. Over 18’s must have Scout DBS clearance.

The cost of the trip will be £55 per person. This includes your accommodation and breakfast and dinner. It does not include lunch meal or boat hire. If we paddle on the Tryweryn there will also be an additional fee for the use of the National White Water Centre.

Participants are responsible for their own transport to North Wales although SSWAC will put people in contact with each other to arrange car sharing where possible.

Any under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is responsible for their wellbeing and behaviour not on the water. This may be a Scout Leader, nominated adult or non-paddling parent/guardian. Please let me know if you are under 18 or a leader bringing scouts

Pre-requisites
This trip is suitable for experienced white water paddlers who wish to develop their skills. It is not suitable for novices. Over 18s can, at their own risk paddle the upper section of the Tryweryn. Under 18’s will be restricted to the lower section of the river due to permit restrictions.

To reserve your place, please email me. Please do not send money at this stage.
