Smart Cities Exhibition and Conferece will promote technologies and experience in sustainable urban development and will allow for customer-supplier interaction concerning options for collaboration.

To achieve green and smart growth in Rakvere in 2009 Rakvere accepted Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) and set goals like: Green street lighting; District heating from fossil fuels to biofuels  and insulation; Heat consumption-efficient use in municipal and residental buildings; City planning; Urban transport- from fossil fuels to biofuels.
In 2010 Rakvere was one of the 6 nominees for the Sustainable Energy Awards and in 2013 was chosen as one of the best EU Urban Solutions. At the moment, they have started to build a competence center which will be Estonia´s first nearly zero energy building and is going to be built in BIM technology.
