Department Of Taxation Email Statement From Friday September 22nd
The Nevada Department of Taxation will be accepting additional applications for retail marijuana establishment licenses in the near future. Temporary regulation T002-17 provides that the Department may open for additional applications for not more than five days prior to the end of the year. We intend to open the window for applications in October or November. The application window will not necessarily be for five days, but we will give at least two weeks notice of our intent to open the application period with the number of days that we will accept applications. For information on who will be able to apply and for which license type(s), please refer to temporary regulation T002-17.
The application timeline under the permanent regulations will be set after the permanent regulations have been adopted by the Nevada Tax Commission and approved by the Legislative Commission. We do not know the timeline as we must wait for the Legislative Counsel Bureau to complete review of the regulations and for a date to be set for the Legislative Commission to meet and vote on the regulations. We are hopeful that we will open the application period within the first quarter of 2018.
