After several postponements due to COVID, "Lake Victoria, slowly dying", Visa d'Or 2019 and World Press 2020 awardee is exhibited at the Alliance Française of Nairobi, Kenya, from 10 to 27 November. It is a pleasure to confront it with the reflections and emotions of people on the front line of the issue raised. Two guided tours are planned on 11 Nov. from 10am to noon.

On 11 Nov. at 6 pm, I will participate in a round table discussion. The theme: "The validity of documentary artforms in a social media world", with photojournalist Brian Otieno, producer Toni Kamau, visual artist Michael Soi, moderated by John Sibi-Okumu.

On Nov. 12, I exchange with Kenyan photographers around their portfolio.

In addition, on the Arts page of Le Progrès week-end, Stéphane Bouchard mentions the Victoria, exhibited at the Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay, in Chicoutimi, Canada, from October 6 to 24.

I had the pleasure of participating in the Contrechamps podcast series, produced by Médecins Sans Frontières France, which immerses the listener in the world of a photograph taken in an MSF field operation and the context in which it was taken. The photographer gives a personal account of the image, an encounter, a moment.

I visited Old Fangak, South Sudan, in December 2017. Its unique geography makes it a refuge for many people displaced by war. MSF provides health care to people living along the White Nile and the Phow River, which become a huge network of swamps during the rainy season between May and October. During my stay, I cross paths with Camille, the midwife who manages the reproductive and sexual health activities in the maternity ward. I look back at this photo, a moment I thought I would never capture.

Ekifire, a work on LGBTI communities in East Africa, is still available in bookshops, online or on the Belles Lettres website. I will be happy to sign it at our next meeting.

I had the opportunity to talk about it, in French, on Vertigo on RTS, in the Lobby of Radio Campus Paris and as a cultural guest of Sarah Tisseyre on RFI. I come back to the genesis of the project in an interview with Ulrich Huygevelde, in the series Regards. The podcast is here.
