Ausgrid Update.
Crews from Ausgrid will reconnect homes
on Pittwater's Western Foreshores to the local electricity network
following
repairs to the damaged submarine cable.
Final tests were carried out on the
repaired submarine cable today.
In order to safely connect four small
substations in the area back to the local electricity network, a brief
interruption is planned.
McCarrs Creek, Elvina Bay south
Customers will experience an interruption
to supply when we disconnect the 200kVA generator and restore power
from
the local network. We plan to start at 9:00am and work should take
about
an hour.
Elvina Bay, Elvina Bay north, Rocky
Point, Lovett Bay south
Customers will experience an interruption
to supply when we disconnect the 350kVA generator and restore power
from
the local network, We plan to start at 10:00am and work should take
about
an hour.
Lovett Bay, Little Lovett Bay
Customers will experience an interruption
to supply when we disconnect the 350kVA generator and restore power
from
the local network, We plan to start at 10:00am and work should take
about
1.5 hours.
Morning Bay, Towlers Bay
Customers will experience an interruption
to supply when we disconnect the 350kVA generator and restore power
from
the local network, We plan to start at 10:00am and work should take
about
two hours.
Ausgrid plans to remove the generators
on the next king tide.
Boat users are strongly urged to always
remain alert to the presence of underwater cables, which have signs
that
mark their location.
Ausgrid's electricity network supplies power to 1.6 million homes and
businesses
across Sydney, the Central Coast and the Hunter.
