You know that feeling where you sit down for coffee with an old friend, and you don't know where to start?  That's just about how i feel right now :)

I think I'm always saying something like, "it's been a crazy season", but its true this time (and the times before).

In mid March i tripped down the steps, sprained my ankle and was on crutches for a week. It was the absolute worst timing and derailed a bunch of things. Yet at the same time, that very incident set everything (literally everything) in motion.

That Denzel Washington quote that's been circulating: "at your highest moment, be careful. That's when the devil comes for you." Well lemme add to it: when the devil turns up the heat, that's when you know you're about to arrive.

Right after I hobbled to the car with my jacked up ankle, I bust out a toothy grin. "I must be on to something if I keep hitting all this opposition. i guess I'm moving in the right direction."

That whole week was a mess. Tears, anxiety related to some big decisions, and a bunch of sleepless nights... followed by a week of migraines and a cold. None of it had to do with the fall but each moment was connected as I confronted a few things that I had no idea were hiding out in my heart.

The last 6 weeks have been an absolute whirlwind! I hope to be able to share more in the next newsletter, but I just want to give a shoutout to everyone who feels like they're running toward the finish line in slow motion.
Keep running!
I love you!

...now onto business :)

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Grant

I was awarded a grant by CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) to do an 8-week long music and arts workshop through their Community Health & Literacy Center. The workshops take place at 5 of their affiliate neighborhood recreational centers across the city - totaling 40 classes over 3 months.

This is for kids ages 5-9 with a focus on emotional well-being in light of all the things they've gone through over the last 2 years of their lives. I am so excited to be doing this and so grateful to a friend who passed my name on and shared about my last 9 months doing Paint on the Porch with my neighborhood kids.

This came about in the most beautiful of ways and I simple adore the kids I've been getting to know. I am 1 month in and absolutely in awe of what art + love + attunement can do to a little heart. These weeks have been full of so much joy (no pun intended)! Here are a few more photos and video.

Is it Music & Art Festival Season Yet!?

We quite literally had our first (duo) show of the year at the beginning of April - a Women's festival here in Philly. What did we discover? The less we perform, the more we love it!!!  Who knew!
