SPECIAL BAJAINSIDER TROPICAL
WEATHER UPDATE Dear Baja Insider Subscriber:
PATRICIA MOVING NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD...EXPECTED TO TURN NORTHWESTWARD LATER
TODAY OR TONIGHT... A TROPICAL STORM WATCH MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...GENERALLY WITHIN 36 HOURS. PATRICIA IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE TOTAL RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ACROSS THE EXTREME SOUTHERN PORTION OF BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR. FOR STORM INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO YOUR AREA... PLEASE MONITOR PRODUCTS ISSUED BY YOUR NATIONAL METEOROLOGICAL SERVICE. At 3AM MDT today the Government of Mexico issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the tip of Baja California Sur. The current forecasts call for TS Patricia to make a radical turn to the west late tonight or early tomorrow morning. The forecast depends on the development of a High pressure ridge west of Baja. Should this ridge not develop as expected the storm may proceed further north than currently forecast. Therefore. residents of the southern portion of Baja California Sur should begin preparations for Tropical Storm force conditions in the next 24-72hrs. The problem arising from Tropical Storm Patricia is the amount of time it may spend very close to the tip of the peninsula.
We will be updating our information every two hours or as more information is released from the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
