Newsletter for Offshore Residents of Pittwater, Australia Volume 9, Issue 244 June 2007 |
|
News from the Pittwater Users Group |
|
1 Following the rains and high tides, a lot of seriously big floating objects eg trees are coming down the Hawkesbury
Whilst this does not
seem
to be evident in Pittwater, the message is to keep a good lookout at all
times.
Please pick up any of
the
floaters, but if too big, ring NSW Maritime for collection
(131256)
2 Due to
continuing
complaints about huge waves from power boats between Long Nose and
Observation Point from many different people, including commercial
operators, Mackeral Beach residents etc, it was agreed at the meeting on
MON
18th June to introduce the No Wash zone up to a line between Observation
Point and Mackeral Beach.
During the next 3
months,
NSW Maritime will be advising and talking with the marinas, the dealers
who
sell the boats which are the main offenders, and the clubs such as the
Royal
Motor, as well as assembling complaints to put to Management to build a
solid case to bring this No Wash zone into
operation.
So, during July to
September please notify NSW Maritime (131256) of any examples of power
boats
causing dangerous wash.
Any questions
ring Greg
Roberts 99799599.
