Mark's Gossip Corner
This week has brought quite a few new up firmware and software updates. If you had questions about the commitment of Spectra Precision to the MobileMapper line (MM120/MM10) all thsee new releases of firmware, toolboxes and MobileMapper Field for both devices should put your concerns to rest. These great products continue to evolve with suport and innovative features.
I have tested the new PM800 firmware (V1.6) and the PM220 firmware (V2.1) and they seem to be fantastic.
As a matter of housekeeping, I feel a need to reiterate this point: "The repair depot for ProMark 3, MobileMapper CX/CE and other legacy equipment that I have spoken of earlier this month (see [ here ]) has nothing to do with Spectra Precision or Ashtech. We (iGage) are doing the repairs, we are responsible for them and our service has nothing to do with the official repair path." Of course for current products, espeically those under warranty, you would be crazy to not avail yourself to the official factory repair path.

New LayoutPro 2.1
LayoutPro V 2.1 with support for the Focus 30 robot is now available. If you layout buildings, forms, pad or lots then LayoutPro may be a real timesaver for you. Now that it works with the Focus 30 a single guy can layout, check and pre-pour verify the most complex of jobs.
