Bydd staff cymorth mewn ysgolion a cholegau addysg bellach yn cofrestru gyda CGA ym mis Ebrill 2016. Mae tudalen bwrpasol ar gyfer staff cymorth ar wefan CGA yma i roi'r newyddion diweddaraf i chi am beth sy'n digwydd.

Digwyddiadau sydd i ddod

Bydden ni'n croesawu cyfle i gyfarfod â mwy o'n rhanddeiliaid, a siarad â nhw, i godi ymwybyddiaeth o CGA a beth rydym yn ei wneud.

Os bu i chi golli'r dyddiad cau ar gyfer gwanwyn 2015, cyflwynwch y ffurflen erbyn 27/04/2015 fan bellaf. Dyma fydd eich cyfle olaf i hawlio cyllid Sefydlu ar gyfer tymor y gwanwyn 2015.

Ydych chi'n dechrau cyfnod o Sefydlu o ddechrau tymor yr haf 2015? Sicrhewch fod y Ffurflen Hysbysu Sefydlu yn cael ei chyflwyno i CGA erbyn 24/04/2015.

Ers i GyngACC newid i fod yn CGA, mae eich botwm mewngofnodi ar y wefan wedi newid/symud.

I fewngofnodi fel ANG, dewiswch 'Mewngofnodwch i Fy CGA', sydd ar gael ar bob tudalen ar wefan CGA.

I fewngofnodi fel Mentor yn yr Ysgol, dewiswch 'Datblygiad Proffesiynol a Chyllido' o'r ddewislen ar ben gwefan CGA a dewis 'Mentoriaid yn yr Ysgol - mewngofnodwch yma' (botwm gwyrdd).

I fewngofnodi fel Mentor Allanol, dewiswch 'Datblygiad Proffesiynol a Chyllido' o'r ddewislen ar ben gwefan CGA a dewis 'Mentoriaid yn yr Ysgol - Mewngofnodwch yma' (y botwm porffor).

Gwaith cyflenwi byrdymor a sefydlu

Ers mis Medi 2012, mae'n rhaid i bob cyfnod o gyflogaeth fel athro cymwys o un sesiwn ysgol neu fwy gyfrif tuag at gyfnod sefydlu ANG; mae hyn yn cynnwys gwaith cyflenwi byrdymor. Mae'n rhaid i ANG sy'n ymgymryd â Sefydlu drwy gronni cyfnodau cyflenwi byr-dymor gofnodi eu holl gyflogaeth gyflenwi byr-dymor o sesiwn neu fwy gyda CGA. I gael rhagor o wybodaeth am gofnodi sesiynau, ewch i'r adran Datblygiad Proffesiynol a Chyllid ar wefan CGA.

Education Workforce Council news

On April 1st the EWC began operations.

We’ve also launched a new blog Sôn. Our first guest blogger, Professor John Furlong shares his thoughts on tomorrow’s teachers. Read the blog  here.

Professor Graham Donaldson has also agreed to blog for us – find out what he has to say about his review of curriculum and assessment later this month.

The first EWC Council meeting will be held on 22 April. Some of the things under discussion include:
-          Professional Learning Passport
-          Fitness to Practise
-          The EWC Risk Register

News for learning support staff

Support staff in schools and further education colleges will be registering with the EWC in April 2016. There’s a page specially for support staff on the EWC website here. to keep you up to date with what’s happening.

The Welsh Government is consulting on ‘Proposals for the registration of school learning support workers with the EWC’. You can read more here.

Forthcoming events

We’d welcome an opportunity to meet and speak to more of our stakeholders to raise awareness of the EWC and what we do.

Presentation topics can include:
  • Information about the EWC, its role and remit
  • How and why we register  and regulate school and FE teachers
  • How we will register and regulate school and FE learning support staff
  • Information on our Fitness to Practise work – eg. with a focus on common pitfalls with social media and learner assessment
  • Introducing the new Code of Professional Conduct and Practice
  • Workforce data

Professional Development and Funding

Submission of Induction Paperwork
 
Induction Funding Claim Forms
If you missed the deadline for spring 2015, please submit the form no later than 27/04/2015. This will be your final opportunity to claim Induction funding for spring term 2015.

Starting a period of Induction from the beginning of summer term 2015? Please ensure that the Induction Notification Form is submitted to the EWC by 24/04/2015.

Since GTCW’s transition to the EWC, your log in button on the website has changed/moved.

To log in as a NQT select ‘Log in to My EWC’ which is available on all pages of the EWC’s website.

To log in as a School Based Mentor select ‘Professional Development and Funding’ from the menu bar at the top of the EWC’s webpage and select ‘School Based Mentors – Log in Here’ (green button).

To log in as an External Mentor select ‘Professional Development and Funding’ from the menu bar at the top of the EWC’s webpage and select ‘External Mentors – Log in Here’ (purple button)

Short term supply work and induction

Since September 2012 all periods of employment as a qualified teacher of one school session or more must count towards a NQT’s induction period, this includes short-term supply.  NQTs undertaking induction through the accrual of short-term supply periods must record all short-term supply employment of a session or more with the EWC.  For further information about recording sessions visit the Professional Development and Funding section of the EWC’s website.

Closure of Early Professional Development (EPD)

From the end of academic year 2014/15 the EPD funding programme will close.  You can read more about changes here.

Did you know we’ve registered nearly 6,000 FE teachers?

It’s a new registration year – check your record on the Register of Education Practitioners is correct here. Any problems, contact the Qualifications ansd Registration Team registration@ewc.wales

Fitness to Practise

We’ve recently appointed five serving FE teachers as new Fitness to Practise panel members. Details will be on our website soon.
 
EWC Code

Have you read the EWC Code of Professional Conduct and Practice? You can download a copy here. It outlines the standards of conduct and competence expected of registered practitioners.

Did you know that you can:
