Joshua 2:10-12 When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done . . . Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals; and they left the Lord God of their fathers . . .
YOU ARE MY WITNESSES
I will occasionally hear one of our seasoned citizens say: people today just don't understand how good they have it; this generation needs to learn the lessons of life. In our advanced and automated world, the things that our grandparents needed to know to live and function from day to day, we know nothing about. We wonder how they did what they did on the farms without the automation and huge implements we have today.
If this generation doesn't understand, then perhaps we should ask -- what did the former generation teach us, and did we listen?
The Bible says that the generation that grew up after Joshua died did not know the LORD! Why? What did the previous generation teach them? It seems that they left out the most important thing.
What about the generation to come . . . your children, your grandchildren? Do they know the LORD? If you don't teach them, who will?
