Summer 2025 – The Rise of Semiprecious Bead Jewellery
As we embrace the warmth of summer 2025, semiprecious bead jewellery is making a comeback. Blending bohemian charm with modern sophistication with striking statement pieces and sustainable designs.
Bold and Chunky Designs
This summer, bold and chunky bead jewellery is centre stage. Oversized beads in vibrant colours or unique shapes. Think large, colourful necklaces that serve as the focal point of an outfit, or chunky bracelets that add flair to a simple look.
Ocean-Inspired Motifs
Drawing inspiration from the sea. Designers are incorporating oceanic elements into jewellery. Feature shells, mermaids, octopuses, and other marine motifs – reflecting a collective sense of wanderlust and a connection to nature.
Mixed Media Creations
Mixed media bead jewellery is about combining different materials and textures to create unique pieces. In 2025, expect to see beads paired with metals, fabrics, wood, and other materials to create one-of-a-kind designs.
Vintage Revival
Vintage-inspired jewellery is making a comeback. Retro styles from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s are being reimagined with a modern twist. Designs that incorporate vintage beads or reminiscent of these eras. A touch of nostalgia to contemporary fashion.
Statement Earrings
Statement earrings are still a major trend. Large, eye-catching earrings of colourful beads can transform an outfit from ordinary to extraordinary. Like chandelier-style earrings to bold geometric shapes – drawing attention to the face and adding drama.
Layered Necklaces
A trend that’s here to stay in 2025. Bead necklaces of varying lengths can be layered together to create a chic, sophisticated look. Mix different styles such as silver chokers, mid-length strands, and long pendants to achieve a harmonious blend of texture and colour.
Personalized Pieces
Personalization continues to be popular. Customizing pieces with initials, names, or birthstones makes the jewellery special. Beaded bracelets with alphabet beads or necklaces featuring birthstone charms make thoughtful gifts for loved ones.
Sustainable Beads: Eco-Friendly Elegance
Designers continue to focus on eco-conscious materials. Expect to see jewellery crafted from recycled glass, natural stones, and ethically sourced materials, offering both beauty and responsibility. Reuse beads from old jewellery or source materials from charity shops. Upcycling is both creative and eco-friendly.

New Forest Bead Fair
Fantastic show! As always in the New Forest, we do well. Lot of visitors, lot of sales. And we love the Forest. It’s magical at 7am, with animals all over the road in the sunlight. We’ll be back in the New Forest on Sunday 14th September – details at New Forest Bead Fair.
Welsh Bead Fair
Another successful show, although a little quieter than the New Forest. Even though it’s in Wales, we never see any Welsh speakers!
Cornish Bead Fair
Our best Cornish show at Probus yet! Very busy all day, with good sales. We’ll be back in Cornwall on Sunday 20th July in Wadebridge – see at the Cornish Bead Fair.
Between these three shows, we took a few days off in Cornwall. In a cottage in Looe and camping in Padstow. Along with visiting a couple of National Trust properties. We love it in Cornwall!
Cambridge Bead Fair
Very busy, as always in Cambridge. For the first two hours my head was spinning from adding so many orders! Even with two of us serving, there was still a queue. In 2025, and future years, we’re doing this popular show three times a year. Next is Sunday 5th October – detail at Cambridge Bead Fair.
