MIGHTY MANATEES KARL "K-JOE" FRICK HOSPITALIZED! - On Friday, October 26th, Bassist/keyboardist/vocalist Karl Frick experienced a heart attack and was taken to Phoenixville Hospital. Two stents were implanted and an angioplasty was performed. On Nov. 3rd, Karl will undergo bypass surgery. Our prayers and healing vibrations go out to Karl and his family. Not only is Karl an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, but he also serves as the band's in-house sound man and recording engineer. This recent turn of events has shaken the group and our fans, but Karl assures us he will back rockin' just as soon as he can. Filling in for Karl on bass will be Brett Andrew and Eric Visnov. Due to Karl's illness, the band's appearance at the MontCo Music Awards on Nov. 12th has been cancelled. Karl's blues band, Friar's Point, have just released the new CD "Lust" and the CD release party has been rescheduled. Karl wants to thank all of his friends and fans for their good wishes. www.FriarsPointBand.com
THE FUZZTONE PROJECT - Karl's understudy Brett Andrew is not only a fine bassist and the rhythm guitarist in The Robert Randolph Band, he is also co-owner of Fuzztone Studio in Springfield, PA where The Mighty Manatees have been recording their latest studio CD. The album should be ready to be mixed by the end of December. Jason Crosby is producing as well as playing keys and violin.
THANKSGIVING EVE! - On Wed., November 21st, The Mighty Manatees will perform at Steam in Southampton, PA from 8:30 - 11:30 It's an early show at the newest nightclub in the area. Give thanks and praise!
LOU REED - Manatees drummer Jim Cavanaugh's former band was called Wanderlust. They had a reunion recently and recorded the new CD

MANATEES FUN FACT - Did you know that due to K-Joe's health scare last week, Ranger Will had to play the bass at The Umpteenth Annual Manatees Masquerade at Mezzaluna in Allentown? It's true! And just before the show an actual Goth wedding was performed! Both the wedding and the bass playing were described as, "pretty white".
