RANGER REPORT - August 29, 2006

There is music in all things, if men had ears."

-Lord Byron

Good summer to you!

Everyone is back from their vacations except drummer Tim Campbell who quit the band a month ago. What is it with these drummers? We are currently holding auditions for a new full-time drummer. In the meantime former drummers Myles Rothwell, Ritchie DeCarlo, and Ras Michael Sheffer will be filling in.

The Manatees on-line web-store is almost ready to open! We are just weeks away and just in time too because Cherri, our merchandise maiden, has just come out with a brand new Manatee-shirt (S, M, L, XL, XXL), fridge magnets, business cards, and a whole lot more…

Both the long-awaited Los Manatees studio CD and the Ranger Will studio CD will be completed and ready by this Christmas 2006.

Manatee light show engineer and projectionist Bob Rominiecki and his lady Stephanie Reid recently celebrated the birth of their first child, a boy named Noah Robert, on July 19th. Mother and child are doing well. Congratulations from all of us here at Manatee headquarters! All three of you will be receiving brand new Manatee-shirts and fridge magnets (and a whole lot more…)

Manatee bassist/vocalist Randy Wagner and Manatee guitarist/vocalist Ray Adkins wrote and recorded a song together this year based on Ray's experiences in post-Katrina Louisiana and the city of New Orleans. The song is called, "The Ballad of Edward Garrison" and features most of the Manatees family on instruments and vocals. A DVD clip was also produced to go along with the song and can viewed at www.slot-1.com
Randy and Ray are currently in negotiations with CNN for broadcasting rights…

While I was up in Canada, on vacation this month, I got to spend a wonderful week with my eldest daughter, Jewels. I also played a few reunion shows with my old band from 20 years ago, One Life. You can see us playing the song, "Goin' Crazy" on www.youtube.com under "One Life @ The Pyramid" here.

Coming up in September is the final Fitzwater Station show of the season (Sun., Sept. 17).

The 9th Annual Asher's Chocolates Fall Fest begins at 11:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, Sept. 30. This is a free, all-ages outdoor show. There will be face-painting clowns, moon-bounce, raffles, free hot dogs and drinks, and a whole lot more…

Later that same day is the 2nd Annual Jeff Daniel's Jeep-A-Thon (complete with dazzling fireworks finale) (4:30&8:30, Sat., Sept. 30). If you'd like to see what happened during last year's Jeep-A-Thon fireworks display just check out the "Desire On The Mountain" video clip in the download section of this web-site.

Well that's all the news that's fit to print for now.

Be excellent to one another,

Ranger Will
