THE KNITTED CHARACTER FOLK FESTIVAL
JUNE 4TH 2016
THE BLUE BOAR INN, TEMPLE GRAFTON, WARKS B49 6NR

These days there are plenty of festivals out there, but the only one to be described as “bonkers”, “crazy”, “off the wall” and “quirky” is The Knitted Character Folk Festival, which takes place this year on June 4th in Temple Grafton, Warwickshire (just outside Stratford upon Avon).

The brainchild of local folk-pop-cowpunk legend Gerry Colvin (with thanks for inspiration to Harry Hill), the one-day festival is a celebration of live folk music with a knitting twist!

Top class folk acts from around the country will perform at The Blue Boar Inn in Temple Grafton, whilst folk fans are invited to bring along knitted versions of their favourite folk artists, which will be displayed on a stage alongside the “real” acts. Various knitting activities will take place as well as a folk-knitting orientated raffle.

This year’s running order features more than 12 bands and is great value at only £20 a ticket. Highlights include well-known Keith Donnelly, a fabulous singer-songwriter and raconteur and Fleetwood Cave featuring Marion Fleetwood and Gregg Cave from acclaimed folk band TradArr. The day ends with an all-comers folk music session in The Blue Boar bar.

Famous folk artists already knitted include The Oysterband, Seth Lakeman, Ralph McTell and of course Gerry Colvin!

Donations from the proceeds will be made to The Shakespeare Hospice and The Army Benevolent Fund.
