Portland Story Theater's Urban Tellers.
Recipe for an extraordinary evening of entertainment
Take six ordinary people.
One strategist, one ad man, one artist, one psychiatric nurse, one nonprofit director, one blacksmith.
Stir to combine.
Add four weeks of workshop sessions.
Discover, craft, and shape personal stories.
Add plot, conflict, resolution.
Let rise.
Incorporate feedback and collaboration.
Let rise again.
Gently fold in transformation.
Sprinkle with laughter, feeling, meaning and authenticity.
Let rise one more time.
Turn out onto the Portland Story Theater stage at Hipbone Studio.
Add snacks, libations and audience.
Serve stories face-to-face, eye-to-eye, and heart-to-heart.
Enjoy.

About Portland Story Theater. Portlanders are passionate about stories. And live theater, and shared experiences. Portland Story Theater shares this passion. We use a unique collaborative approach to create shows where people perform stories drawn from real-life experiences. Portland Story Theater offers a workshop series, The Art of Personal Narrative, that gives people an opportunity to discover and craft their stories so that they flow through them, seamlessly in their true form, without any barriers: open, fresh, revealing. The workshop culminates in a showcase called Urban Tellers. It's not acting. It's not writing. There's no script. This is narrative, spoken straight from the heart. Real. True. Stories.
