THE PROTOTYPE AT "ECOMONDO/KEYENERGY" IN RIMINI, NOVEMBER 7-11
The Hybrid Solar prototype developed at the University of Salerno will be presented at Ecomondo/KeyEnergy in Rimini, from November 7 to 11, 2007. Saturday November 10 at 10.30, at Open Space Euromobility, a lecture on "Hybrid Solar Vehicles: a possibile solution" will be given, followed by an open seminar on the design of such vehicles.

SUCCESSUFUL PARTICIPATION AT "ECOTARGA-GREEN PRIX" IN SICILY.
The prototipe has successfully participated to Ecotarga - Green-Prix, first edition of the famous Targa Florio dedicated to the ecological vehicles. The competition has been held in Sicily from October 19 to 21, 2007, on the road, from Termini Imerese to Enna, and on the track around Pergusa Lake. Among the participants, NUNA3, the winner of the World Solar Challenge 2006.
The prototype, at its first serious test, has obtained a satisfactory result, in spite of very bad weather. The vehicle, conducted by the driver Raffaele Di Martino, has scored three points in the FIA table and a satisfying sixth position on regularity test, over 13 participants (the top five position have been held by five Toyota Prius, the unquestioned stars of the ecological vehicles). Different events have concurred to this result: a very good position on the regularity test on the Pergusa track and a forced stop for a funeral with a brass band. But next year it will be another story

THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE 2nd INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON "HYBRID AND SOLAR VEHICLES"
The Second International Workshop on Hybrid and Solar Vehicles has been held on September 14, 2007 at the University of Salerno, Italy. The workshop, where 12 papers have been presented, has been opened by a plenary lecture on "Evolutionary Trends in Power Train Technology" given by Dr. Rich Schaum, SAE 2007 President.

The project is formally finished on September 30, 2007. A prototype of Hybrid Solar Vehicle, which participated to Ecotarga-Green Prix in Sicily, has been designed and built, and a rich website in eight languages developed, with many didactic contents on sustainable mobility. IL PROTOTIPO PARTECIPA AD "ECOMONDO/KEYENERGY" A RIMINI DAL 7 ALL'11 NOVEMBRE
Il prototipo di veicolo ibrido solare sarà presentato dal 7 all'11 novembre a Rimini Fiera in occasione di KeyEnergy-Ecomondo. Sabato 10 alle 10.30, nell'Open Space Euromobility al padiglione D1, si terrà un intervento sul tema: "I veicoli ibridi solari: una soluzione possibile". Seguiranno, alle ore 11.00 e 12.15, due seminari didattici sulla scelta e la progettazione di questo tipo di veicolo, con un occhio al risparmio energetico ed un altro ai costi.

UN BUON RISULTATO DEL NOSTRO PROTOTIPO AD "ECOTARGA & GREEN PRIX" IN SICILIA
Il prototipo di veicolo ibrido solare ha partecipato con successo ad Ecotarga - Green-Prix, prima edizione della Targa Florio dedicata ai veicoli ecologici tenutasi in Sicilia dal 19 al 21 Ottobre 2007. Il test si è svolto sia su strada, sul percorso della storica Targa Florio da Termini Imerese a Enna, che su pista, sul circuito attorno al lago di Pergusa. Tra i partecipanti, NUNA3, vincitore del World Solar Challenge 2006. Il prototipo, alla sua prima vera verifica su un percorso impegnativo, ha superato bene il test, anche in presenza di condizioni metereologiche a dir poco difficili: il nostro veicolo, guidato dal driver Raffaele Di Martino, ha ottenuto tre punti nelle classifiche FIA ed un onorevole sesto posto assoluto nella classifica di regolarità, su tredici concorrenti arrivati al traguardo, e preceduto solo da cinque Toyota Prius, indiscusse regine dei veicoli ecologici. A questo risultato hanno concorso un primo posto sulla gara di regolarità su pista a Pergusa ed alcune avversità durante la gara: un funerale con tanto di banda ed un errore di percorso, che hanno penalizzato il nostro prototipo più delle altre concorrenti. Ma l'anno prossimo sarà un'altra storia...

La seconda edizione del Workshop sui Veicoli Ibridi e Solari si è tenuta il 14 Settembre 2007 presso l'Università di Salerno. Il Workshop, nel quale sono stati presentati 12 lavori, è stato aperto da una relazione su "Evolutionary Trends in Power Train Technology" tenuta dal Dr. Rich Schaum, Presidente SAE 2007.
