June 16, 2008: Updates in Open Source Economic Development

This week I-Open co-hosts an educational retreat for workforce development leaders from seven regions across the US in partnership with the Edward Lowe Foundation in Cassoplis, Michigan. This 1500 acre farmland utopia was once the home of Kitty Litter entrepreneur, Edward Lowe and his family. The Foundation focuses on entrepreneurship, leadership, peer learning, the practice of economic gardening, and land conservation.

Ed Morrison, I-Open, travels to New Orleans, Lousiana, next month for Workforce Innovations. Ed leads a conference kick off Strategic Doing session for the 3000 conference participants.

In Northeast Ohio, this month's Midtown Brews with Meet The Bloggers focused on the importance of a community engaged County-Wide Land Bank to address unprecedented property foreclosures, an initiative lead by Jim Rokakis, County Treasurer. Watch the Live Show at Midtown Brews.

Our inaugural Women's Enterprise Network InternetTV Live Show focused on the power of intergenerational learning. Be sure to join us F2F for our next conversation, Sat, July 12 at 9:30AM. WENetwork
