Hello, Firstname

Wednesday 7 July

Next week, 30 June, we have a double treat, with the evening being split into two halves. The first half will be a short resume of Bob Faris' creative photography when his daughter, Paula, will show a selection of images from his FRPS panel and other creative work. Many photographers these days think that creative photography can only be made using software, such as Photoshop, these pictures should convince you otherwise, with many of the images, including his FRPS panels being highly creative and being created in pre-Photoshop days. Below are a selection of Bob's images, see if you can work out which ones used Photoshop and which ones didn't.

The second half of the evening will be this year's running of the Creative Competition, which is being judged by our President, Barry Mead EFIAP/d3 MPAGB FRPS APAGB, who can be seen here being presented with the trophy after winning the inaugural competition by Bob, the instigator of the competition and designer and donor of the trophy.

Those members who tuned into Colin Harrison's talk last Wednesday, will remember that he promised to send a copy of his notes. These are now attached to this newsletter, they are also available on the BPS website in Members Portal > Online Talks / Presentations

Downloads
NEW - Download issue 285 of PAGB eNews here. This includes the results of the Inter-Federation Competition.

Issue 285 Extra contains details of the Masters of Print Salon des Refusés. These are prints that very nearly made it, with only 60 prints accepted, selection was tough and these prints were only rejected "because there were already sufficient pictures of that style". Two of the pictures are by BPS members:

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Salon acceptances: BPS photographers are now achieving large numbers of salon acceptances and constraints on time and space mean we can't include them all. So please only advise of awards or other milestones.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

Make Money For BPS Every Time You Shop On Amazon!
Now we're all still in lockdown, the thought of on-line shopping must be looming large in many members' minds. It's worth remembering that if you so wish, each and every one of you can support BPS with every purchase you make on Amazon by using Amazon Smile. Click on the link below – then it’s self-explanatory.
Shopping using Smile is no different to your normal Amazon shopping and costs you nothing, it's just that you need to tell it that you wish to use Smile and then we get some pennies!

For Sale
If you have any photographic items for sale, drop me a line and I'll include it in the next newsletter. Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full description of the sale items (pictures always help).

Photographic Acronyms
For those of you who aren't sure what MPAGB, EFIAP/s and many more such seemingly random collections of letters mean, just click here to see the list.
