PRESS RELEASE: Palestine and boycott of Israel banners at today's Radio 702 and Discovery Health's "Walk the Talk" as death toll of Palestinians killed by Israel on strikes in Gaza increase
Supporters of BDS South Africa (a South African human rights and Palestine solidarity organization) have hung and are carrying banners all along the route of today's 700 000 person Radio 702 and Discovery Health "Walk the Talk" taking place in Johannesburg. The banners read: "#GazaUnderAttack - Boycott Apartheid Israel", "Apartheid: Wrong in SA, Wrong in Palestine", and "Killing Kids is Not On" referring to the recent Israeli killing of more than 150 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip. The UN has said that one Palestinian child has been killed every hour by Israel, see here:

Beyond the major #GazaUnderAttack protests drawing thousands of supporters, these individual actions by ordinary South Africans, from all walks of life, are taking across the country in solidarity with the Palestinian people. With the death toll at over 1000 Palestinians killed by Israel, protests calling for the South African government to recall the SA Ambassador from Tel Aviv and expel the Israeli Ambassador from South Africa (as forms of diplomatic protest against what Israel is doing) are due to escalate in coming days. The South African government is being called on by South Africans to act, and to act now, by taking decisive action against these Israeli attacks on Gaza.
