Wednesday 31 May

Next Wednesday is the highlight of the PDI competition year when we will be holding the Annual Projected Image Competition. This year it is being judged by our own Pete McCloskey FRPS APAGB. Pete is a successful exhibition entrant and is in demand as an international and national exhibition judge.

There was an exceptionally high number of images submitted for this competition, so to make it more manageable, both for Pete as the judge and us as viewers, the entry has been reduced by removing all images numbered 4 by the entrants. We will see 110 images all told.

Photoshop Adds AI Tools!
Adobe is rolling out the Beta version of their Firefly Generative AI technology for Photoshop which, I suspect, is going to open up a whole can of worms. If you want see what is coming, follow this link to read an article on Firefly and to see several videos giving examples of what can be done - and more to the point, just how easy it is to do. It is often said that the camera cannot lie, this may make some people question that!

It arrived in my PS with the latest automatic update: I've tried it - wow!

Beyond The Wall - Still A Few Place Available

After several requests for a day out I am organising a trip to the British Birds of Prey Centre on 13 June. The centre is located within the National Botanic Garden of Wales at Llanarthne. See their website photography

It will cost £450 for the group for the day and they can accommodate up to 25 people. The cost also covers admission to the gardens and the house. We would get a dedicated handler with a good selection of British raptors and we will have a selection of locations to shoot within. More details and a gallery are on their website.

To make this worthwhile and affordable I would suggest a minimum of 12 people and we can carshare. The date I have opted for is 13 June. Why not come along and get some award winning images both from the birds and from the Botanic gardens.
