Senior parents: This is the time of year that we start to see seniors start to struggle with their high school careers being over. We see students simply stop passing classes that they need to graduate, missing school and in some cases, completely sabotaging their chances of graduation. My unresearched opinion is that certain seniors are nervous about the next phase in life. This is a fairly normal occurrence. The counseling department is working hard to push, pull, and drag them across the finish line but please have a serious discussion with your senior student about your expectations for the end of their high school career, including academics, athletics, and prom.

Influenza B is starting to rear its head around the high school. This one is a nasty one that takes about 5-8 days to recover from. Please remind your students to wash their hands as much as possible. I'm in the halls telling kids to stop in the bathroom or stop at the common's sink before lunch.

Next Tuesday will conclude the MSTEP for most of our juniors. Only social studies and science remain. They can earn exam waivers by scoring in the proficient target. Please encourage them to do their best.

Next Friday is a no school day in observance of Good Friday.
