Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend Parent-Teacher Conferences. For the last year, the School Improvement Team has tried to find an alternative to the traditional P-T conferences without losing face-to-face meetings which are critical to the success of the student. Our goal is to provide a meaningful experience with parents that is effective and efficient. Sometimes, P-T Conferences don't seem very efficient. While Skyward is very good at relaying grade information, we don't want it to be the only option for connecting with parents. We've thought of Skype, like doctors are using, office hours, as colleges use and a variety of other options but most seem to fall short of our intended purpose. If you have any thoughts on conferences or novel ideas for reinventing conferences, we'd love to hear them.

Drug FYI:
One of the things the county has been dealing with is the increase in common aerosols being used to obtain a high. One of the more common choices are the cans of air commonly referred to as "dusters." The cans of air go by various names but most people use them to dust their computers. People have learned that inhaling (called huffing) the chemical gives them a very strong high. Most users have no idea that they can quickly develop an addiction and they can die from it. You need to be 18 to buy canned air so younger people often steal the cans or get an older person to buy it for them. One of the first signs of huffing are extreme chapped lips.
