Today we are proud to present the second outcome, out of three, before we se the release of the debut album from Adrian Recordings new artist Surf Philosophies.
After the epic Coconut Parfum we present the even so epic although somewhat slower and flute based - How to Surf.
Artist: Surf Philosophies
Title: How to Surf
Read:
Surf Philosophies are first and foremost a moving picture. Taking a cue from the original Neural Surfer Tom Blake, questions are asked and answers are given.
What does making music look like?
How long do we wait for songs?
Is the same song the same the second time around?
"Neither agreeable nor disagreeable," I answered, "it just is."
Huxley
A golden-haired lion.
The ingredients for balancing the bottle.
A reminder that balance is something one has to constantly adjust.
How To Surf is the sound of you receiving advice.
Softly.
How to Surf-video: TBA
It's a bold move, trying to hold on to new listeners for eight minutes straight, but there isn't a moment where "Coconut Parfum" feels tired. Gently chiming refrains and twinkling echoes give way to euphoric singalong choruses and space-age percussion, before taking a turn towards something entirely darker.
A weaving maze of a listen, a gentle sweep of low-key synth makes way for a colossal burst of leaping, layered vocals, and in turn for a sublime second half where reeling chimes of percussion form a bed for brilliant dovetails of deep, blissful texture.
