West Wales Order of Merit 2016
|
At the 2010 meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge the Provincial Grand
Master announced an innovation in the Province, namely the presentation
of the Provincial Grand Master’s Order of Merit.
This is an award presented in recognition of outstanding service to
Freemasonry, and is given to those who have distinguished themselves in
keeping with the highest traditions of the Order.

Results often speak for themselves. Above is a chart showing local media coverage of Freemasonry across the UK by Province.
The headlines are:
- Positive local media coverage is 81.5% up on last year.
- Negative coverage is down 50%, with only three examples
- 92.3% of coverage is positive.
- Devon, West Lancashire and Yorkshire West Riding are currently the top three Provinces by volume of positive coverage.
The second biggest increase in positive coverage is West Wales at +725%, with no examples of neutral coverage, never mind negative stories. Well done to all concerned, especially W Bros Dirk den-Hartog and Chris Samuel.
