As you may be aware KU have announced that they will not be continuing
their kindergarten service on Scotland Island next year.
The Next Steps
This is a great opportunity for the community to set up comprehensive childcare services to cater for all families with pre-school and primary aged children.
Passionate parents and caring community members are invited to attend a meeting on 9th Nov at 7.30 pm in the Kindie to inaugurate a Steering Group to: -
Ensure we open next year with a Community Run Child Care Association/Cooperative
providing preschool / long day care for 2-5 year olds
Immediately set up a weekly Play Group, with special inclusion for mums to be & 0-2 year olds
Run School Vacation Programmes of activities, starting this summer
Investigate before and after school care
Everyone is welcome: island and foreshores, parents and interested community members.
