LSI San Diego welcomes over 150 students to our Summer Young Learners Programme!

Students enrolled in our Summer Young Learners Programme at LSI San Diego have the opportunity to experience the excitement of living and studying in this amazing city. This program is offered from June 25th to August 10th to students ages 11 to 17. This summer we have over 150 students joining us in this unique experience of spending their summer with fellow students from a very diverse group of countries such as Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, China and Russia. Students study with LSI teachers in the morning and then enjoy the many wonderful things San Diego has to offer in the afternoon.

Some of the activities that our students can take part in include seeing a San Diego Padres baseball game, swimming and catching the sun at the beautiful Mission Beach, and finding their favorite brands at the huge Las Americas Shopping Outlet. The weekends allow students the opportunity to do some sightseeing outside the city. A tour of Los Angeles and a day at Disneyland are just two of the many options groups can choose from.

LSI Feature School – San Francisco/Berkeley

Introducing LSI Berkley's Registrar LSI Berkley is happy to introduce Ms Danielle Beasley. Danielle is originally from San Juan Capistrano and is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where she studied English. Danielle can speak Japanese and has visited the southern region of Japan many times. Her favourite place she's visited would be a toss between Alhambra Castle in Spain or the beaches of Waikiki. The next destination she wants to visit is Paris, Brazil, or Thailand. Danielle is a fun and energetic person and is excited to be working with LSI.

Chinese Young Learners in our Summer Program The Chinese students had activities ranging from a tour of San Francisco, to a local scavenger hunt and even a trip to Stanford University. In addition to their activity program, they also enjoyed the incredible experience of staying with our host families while also being engulfed in a multi-cultural setting of the school itself..

New Course – Afternoon IELTS

Beginning in the fall on September 4th, LSI Berkeley will offer a twelve-week afternoon IELTS course. This is a test preparation class that will prepare students to take the exam. The class will be Monday through Friday and will be an elective that students could choose to take. Over the past months, we have received a lot of interest in this course from our current students and IELTS is becoming more and more accepted in US universities. The course will prepare students for the four skills that they will be tested on – listening, reading, writing and speaking.

LSI Feature Programme – Executive Courses at LSI Canada

LSI Canada offers year-round Executive Courses suitable for students with specific targets or limited time.  Students can choose from the Mini-Group, One-to-one or 9 Day Compact Course. These programs are designed to address student and corporate needs with an emphasis on using English for Business in a variety of dynamic real life situations. Our experienced instructors will assess each student’s needs and design a program to meet those needs.

Topics covered include: Business vocabulary and idioms, email and letter writing, management and leadership styles and skills, business and political trends, blended cultural working groups, small talk for business, globalization, and current world news.

Our courses are taught by Languages Canada certified teachers with an accreditation in Teaching English as a Second Language. Our chief instructor at LSI Vancouver, Ken Cresdee, has over 20 years of experience working in both education and in the private industry, as a consultant for Fortune 100 companies in the Pharmaceutical industry. Our chief instructor at LSI Toronto, Gwyneth Storr, has more than 15 years’ experience as an Internet consultant, researcher, program manager, web developer, intranet site manager, and corporate trainer for several large Canadian companies and has been teaching our Business Courses at LSI since 2008.
