ISA Council of Society Delegates Approves Name Change

ISA - Name
ChangeResearch Triangle Park, NC (14 October 2008) -The initials “ISA” remain the same — but what they stand for has changed. ISA’s Council of Society Delegates voted in their annual meeting in Houston yesterday to change the organization’s name to “International Society of Automation” by an overwhelming majority. The Council also approved a $15 per year dues increase to accommodate two Technical Division Memberships for individual members, and an updated policy on Section rebates.
The Council voted to rename the Society from ISA – The Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society to the International Society of Automation. The Council of Society Delegates controls the policies of the Society, and Members are represented by one delegate for each geographic ISA Section.
