A couple of really good notes on teachers:
I observed Ms. Forman's government class and it was really well done. The students were preparing for a debate on health care using their own arguments backed by researched evidence. The most amazing thing occurred: nearly every student was using technology and not one of the students was texting or "insta-snap-booking." They all were engaged! The skill required to draft an opinion, support it with factual evidence and deliver the opinion calmly is a life long skill. My wife continually crushes me with facts during our debates. Now that I'm all coached up, I'm going to finally win an argument!

Mr. Lienau's class finished their propaganda poster assignment. The posters were really well done. Creating a propaganda poster requires a lot of high-level thinking and as a bonus, forces students to think critically to understand each other's posters.

Spring sports have kicked off with conditioning days. If you want your child to be more active, we have a sport for them! Please encourage your child to try out.

It's that time of year again when we start evaluating our handbook. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. We will be further reducing our allowable attendance absences to fall in line with the State of Michigan guidelines. I can't argue with the State though. The fewer school days students miss, the better they do in school.

Speaking of missing school, we have a half day on Friday for students.
