Opera Ithaca seeks chorus for Tosca

Join Opera Ithaca's chorus for the upcoming production of Puccini’s Tosca. This is going to be an exciting site-specific, environmental production, featuring Megan Nielson (Nedda in OI’s production of Pagliacci this fall) as Floria Tosca, tenor Paolo Buffagni as Mario Cavaradossi, and our own Zach James as the villainous Scarpia. Maestro Gordon Schermer joins us from NYC to conduct. Ellen Jackson is directing, and is recruiting chorus members.

The performance is Friday, February 16 at Ithaca’s CSMA. There will be chorus-specific rehearsals Saturday, February 3, and Saturday, February 10 from 1:30PM-4:30PM at the Kitchen Theatre. The work will be performed in Italian, and you may be on-book. If you are not able to attend both Saturday rehearsals, please do not be dissuaded from joining! They will easily be able to catch you up. Chorus moments in the show are light, but mighty when they occur! Ellen wants to have as powerful and prominent a group as possible.

If you are interested in joining, please let Ellen know ASAP. Email her at
Ellen.Jackson.16@gmail.com. Send her your best availability for a dress rehearsal on Thursday, February 15 (day times and evening times).
