Ephesians 6:18-20 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
CALL UPON HIM
We fight the same cunning enemy Adam and Eve faced in the Garden, yet in our battle with Satan we do have the great Commander in Chief on our side. We can call upon our God to help us in the struggle.
We can call upon God in the day of trouble, He will deliver us, and we will honor Him. Our Commander listens to the needs of His soldiers. He hears them when they call. He knows their weaknesses and strengthens them.
When we are hard-pressed we can take it to the Lord in prayer just as the Apostle Paul did. For when He wrote his letter to the Ephesians, he was being tempted. He had been imprisoned for preaching and he was tempted to turn from Christ and give up on His message. He asked his fellow believers: "Pray . . . that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel . . . Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." Paul prayed and wanted others to pray for Him. Pray to the Captain of the army that He fortify His troops in the day of battle! He will indeed hear and answer those who trust in Him. He who sent His own Son to death for them, will He not listen when they call?
Be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power. In your daily walk be aware of your true enemy, fit yourself with the proper armor, and don't hesitate to call on your Commander for help. The victory is yours.
