Did You Know?
Leaving Kitty Home Alone?
It's okay to leave your cat alone for up to 24 hours, according to most vets. Just make certain to feed him before you leave, and provide fresh water and a clean litter box. But don't extend that alone time much beyond 24 hours.

The First Foreign Film to Hit China in Weeks Is A British Christmas Movie About a Cat
The first import to break through China’s nearly two-month political moratorium on foreign films apparently won’t be “Black Widow” or “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” Instead, Beijing is opening its doors to an unlikely contender for August: a little-known British Christmas film about a cat.
“A Christmas Gift From Bob” — a seasonal, feel-good sequel to the uplifting 2016 biographical drama “A Street Cat Named Bob” — will hit Chinese screens on Aug. 6.

Cat Grooming Tips
Aside from the rarely needed bath, cats do need regular attention to their personal grooming and hygiene needs. And that's up to us. Brushing and combing can be the best thing we can do for our furkids. It not only removes loose hairs, especially for those who shed a lot, and therefore, the occurrence of hairballs. But it also contributes to your relationship by spending time together and helping kitty stay healthy. For those who don't enjoy it, or who fight you, a trip to a professional groomer can be the right approach.
This article from the ASPCA offers some good tips and pointers for keeping up with this necessary job: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/cat-grooming-tips
Going Outside the Box
Before blaming the cat for having bad manners, it's a good idea to examine the situation and see what the issues are. It may not be their fault!
The number one reason for not using the box, in my own observations with clients, is that it doesn't get cleaned often enough. Some cats are slobs, like some people we all know, but for the most part, cats are pretty clean and fastidious about their living quarters.
However, missing the box may be caused by a urinary tract infection or other medical problem, in which case, a veterinarian should check kitty out.
