Projected Image Competition  Round 3 - the judge for this round is Lyn James LRPS from across the bridge in Chepstow.

PSA Interclub Creative Competition
The first round of this year's PSA Interclub Creative Competition has taken place with BPS finishing in 2nd place behind a club called Digital Darkroom (based in Illinois, USA). Below is the league table after the first round and also the individual score from our members. We should thank those members who have contributed images, however the images Barry has are not in a bottomless pot, so I'm sure he'd be glad of any images you think might be suitable, the whackier the better; please send them to barrymead@blueyonder.co.uk

Bristol Salon Judging Weekend
Having received all the entries for this year's Salon we are now getting ready for the judging weekend which will be from Friday 13 to Tuesday 17 February. This year we have in excess of 12,000 images from just over 1200 entrants representing 69 different countries, so it's going to be a busy few days. If you have a few hours free over the weekend, do feel free to come along and see how an international exhibition works.
We do also have an unusual request to make. Does anybody have a Baby Belling (other makes are available) cooker that we could borrow for the duration so that the catering team can reheat/keep warm in the oven some of the food required to feed the troops. If you can help, please either email me at chairman@bristolsalon.co.uk or collar me at a Wednesday meeting.

Residents' Parking Scheme
The much talked about Residents' Parking Scheme comes into force on the 16 March. It looks very much like the powers that be have taken little or no notice of public feeling and are continuing with the 9pm cut off time. Hopefully this shouldn't affect BPS for too long as we hope that we will have moved by the end of April, but it will mean a few weeks of inconvenience. For more details of the plan, please follow this link.

Print Display Boards
Margaret Collis is looking for prints to display on the clubroom walls. Ideally Margaret would like work from 2/3 people, this would be required by March 25th. Would be exhibitors should either speak to Margaret at any Wednesday meeting or email her at collismuriel@talktalk.net.

Fancy Your Chances As A Judge?
If you've ever thought you could do a better job than some of our Wednesday evening judges, now's you your chance to prove it. WCPF are organising a Judging Seminar on the 18th April. Any members who reckon they'd like to have a go at judging might like to go along. Full details can be found on their leaflet which can be downloaded here.

Graham Baines
Graham Baines was until recently a BPS member and had to leave the Society due to his hearing and ill health. Gordon Stirrat recently took some prints back to him and among them was one which was not his. It is called 'London Pride' and it was entered in the 2012/13 Annual Competition as print 1664. If it belongs to someone reading this who wishes to claim it please contact Gordon at gstirrat@talktalk.net. Graham would love occasional visits from club members as he gets rather lonely being housebound and a visit cheers him up no end. If you would like to cheer him up by visiting please speak to Gordon or contact him as above for details.

100 Not Out
Some of the older BPS members might remember Audrey Noble, who along with husband Reg was a leading members of the Society for many years. Sadly Reg died many years ago, but Audrey has gone on to score a century as was reported in the Evening Post this week.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

Items Wanted
John Hudson has received the following request which might be a useful way of getting rid of that old darkroom equipment gathering dust in your loft:

Hello
I am a photography graduate looking to build a community dark room at The Island and asking around to see if there are any spare enlargers and photography equipment I can get hold of to purchase or for donations. If you know of any or could point me to the right person that would be a great help!

If you can help, please contact Preeti Roka at preetimoonroka11@gmail.com

Items For Sale
Items will remain in this section for one month from the date of insertion or until notification of sale, whichever is the sooner.

Margaret Collis has the following, almost new, kit for sale:
MANFROTTO 503 PRO FLUID VIDEO HEAD
The variable damping (drag) allows the head to be tailored to the weight of your camera and lens, and also to the focal length, to allow smooth pan and tilt action which is especially useful when following wildlife such as waterfowl, allowing smooth one-handed pan with sufficient stability to be able to release the shutter while panning or to hold steady without having to pause and lock the head only to find your subject has moved away again!
