 The Minyan Monthly

Shalom, y'all!
As your new "Rosh," I'm finally getting the August Minyan Monthly out in the waning days of August.  As 5773 soon begins, and our new governing structure comes to life, I'm looking forward to another meaningful year of davening, ruach, and community at the Library Minyan
— Scott Taryle
Please, join our committees!
Happily, several minyaners have stepped forward and joined the Library Minyan's various committees, but some of the committees could still use more volunteers, and it's not too late to join.  Being a committee member does not require a big time commitment or special skills, and is a great way to serve, belong, and be involved.  There is no limit to the number of committees you can participate in.  Please contact one of the committee chairs below to find out how you can help.

5773 Diaspora Potluck Events
Would you like to meet and shmooze over some delicious food outside of shul?  Please keep these dates for our upcoming Diaspora Potluck ("DPL") events in 5773 (2012-2013):
Saturday, October 6  (after shul) - Sukkah walks in various neighborhoods/lunch
Friday, November 10 (Shabbat evening) - seudah shleesheet/melaveh malkah/havdalah
Friday, January 25 (Erev Shabbat) - Shabbat dinner in various homes
Saturday, April 13 (after shul) - Shabbat lunch
Thursday May 16 (after shul) - second day Shavuot picnic lunch in La Cienega Park
All of the above events are assigned potluck and locations to be announced with the exception of May 16(each family brings own lunch).
Looking for Assistant Torah Reading Coordinator
We are looking for an assistant to work with our excellent Torah Reading Coordinator Menachem Witties.  Torah reading ability is not required; good communication and organization skills are.  If interested, please contact Coordinators' Committee Chair Jerry Krautman.
Theme for Drash Series
The Education committee would like to plan a series of drashot (maybe 4 or 5 in a 6 or 8-month period) around a particular theme. If you would like to suggest a theme for this series, please email Rachel Green.
