I regularly get emails from members who have not received their newsletter and wanting to know why. I can assure all members that, unless a member leaves the Society, we never remove that person from the mailing list. So, the reason is almost invariably that your email program has dumped my wonderful words of wisdom into your spam or junk folder, which should be your first port of call in your search. Here are a few example of how to prevent a sender's email being classed as junk or spam:
Gmail: Find the email in the spam folder, right click, and select Not spam.
Outlook: Right click email and select Junk and Never block sender.
Mozilla Thunderbird: Open the email from the sender you want to mark as safe
Select the sender's address
Select Add to Address Book
You can also mark a sender as safe by clicking the blue star icon next to the sender's name in the email header. To verify the new contact, click the blue star again.
Apple Mail: Click on the sender's email address at the top of the email. A dropdown menu will appear. Click on "Add to Contacts" or "Add to VIPs" to whitelist the sender.
Windows Mail: to mark an email sender as safe in Windows Mail, you can add them to your Safe Senders list so their messages aren't moved to your Junk Email folder:
Sign in to Outlook Web App
Select Settings > Mail
Under Options, select Block or allow Under Safe senders and recipients, enter the email address or domain you want to add
Select Add or press Enter
Select Save
This list is not exhaustive, and I suggest that you Google something along the lines of:
"windows mail (or whatever email program you use) - how to mark a email sender as safe" and just follow the instructions.
There have been odd times when the newsletter has appeared in neither your in box nor junk/spam folder and it has been down to your internet provider being a tad over-zealous when trying to protect you from nasties and has stopped the newsletter ever reaching you, in this case it is up to you to contact them and tell tham that they are stopping you recieving a newsletter you have paid for and to desist from doing so in the future.
You can also just open up a copy of any previous edition of the newsletter and scroll down to the end, where you will always find a section headed Missed a Copy of the Newsletter? which contains the archive link.
If all this fails, then use this link to go to the archive of all newsletter editions:
I suggest that you file this link somewhere safe, just in case you need it in the future.
