MIGHTY MANATEES TAKE SHORTER SET BREAKS!
After decades of 3 one-hour sets separated by 2 half-hour breaks, The Mighty Manatees have changed their performance format to 4 forty-minute "Beatle" sets separated by 3 twenty-minute breaks. The band felt that their regular half-hour breaks were "just too long" and caused an "energy drop".
"These days we all have to be energy conscious", a band member was quoted as saying.
This Friday night, The Medicine Brothers, (Will & Randy), return to the Cabana Bar in Skippack, PA for a rare acoustic duo appearance.

On Wed., March 17 The Mighty Manatees will play a St. Patrick's Day Happy Hour Bash at the Sandtrap in Limerick, PA. Showtime is 5:30-9:30. Be green.

Manatees drummer Jim "Grampa" Cavanaugh has been very busy lately. He plays on singer/songwriter Jessy Tomsko's new CD "The Light You Make", www.myspace.com/jessytomsko, and continues to perform one Sunday every other month with rock n' roll legend Franny Beecher (guitarist for Bill Haley & The Comets) at the Bridgeport Rib-House. www.ribhouse.net
And speaking of legends...the one & only Commander Cody sat in with The Mighty Manatees last month at The Red Stallion in Warminster, PA. He played the whole last set with the band after his show at The Sellersville Theater. Yes, the set was recorded and yes, he played "Hot Rod Lincoln". Will & Randy were in the studio recently adding vocal harmonies to singer/songwriter (& Manatees founding member) Ray Adkins' new solo CD which should be out later this year. Will & Randy also share songwriting credits with Ray on several of the tracks.

During a snowstorm after our Tuesday show at DaVinci's two weeks ago, Manatees sax man Walter Tates Jr. was involved in a highway pile-up on his way home to Washington, DC. Walter escaped injury but his vehicle was damaged.
We wish him well and eagerly await his return to the road.
We were all devastated by the death & destruction following Haiti's recent earthquakes. The Mighty Manatees have begun collecting canned goods at our shows to be donated to Haitian relief.
