Dear friends,
As we move into 2021 and are still so restricted by the pandemic, my hearts go out to each of you with the new complications to life that each of us has had to face. I am so greatful for the fantastic community that we have built up and maintained virtually during these challanging times. Please, anyone is welcome to join us virtually in our events.
All of the ANAR DANA groups CAN accept new participants even though we are so far along...because of the continuing pandemic all of our projects will continue into the fall. If you would like to join us please contact me! We will work together to get you up to speed!
In addition ANAR DANA projects are still welcoming drop in visitors if you are a current or former member of ANAR DANA (if you aren't but have dance experience you can contact me about the option of drop ins). This way you can dance with your dance sisters anywhere in the world and brush up on some topic you may have done yourself, or learn something you always wanted to. To that end, in the calendar below I have listed which dances we will be working in each virtual session in the new year. Drop-ins are $55 for one unit (ie one 3-hr session including the Awaken Your Dancing Body! class of that day.) We are so enjoying seeing people join us from around the world as we keep up the group connectedness of each ANAR DANA chapter on its own and as a greater whole.
We continue the ANAR DANA Community classes Awaken Your Dancing Body! every Saturday and Sunday am 10 am PT Anyone is welcome to our community of movers from across the globe for this hour of meditative body awareness and movement training.
Cultural Talks: We have a new series of Cultural Talks coming up this year. The ANAR DANA talks begin in late Februar with a talk on Archaic Russian Dances & Songs Khorovod Feb. 26th. We will have regular talks throughout the year.
On the Pomegranate Garden Dance platform tonight I start a January Thursday class series on Armenian Dance. This weekend are both the postponed short workshop on the regional dances from Assyria and a Cultural Talk on Armenia.
For those of you who were interested in the new workshop series on Music Mapping: I'm sorry I dropped the ball. The first series of this class will now be offered by Pomegranate Garden Dance in February.
I am so excited and grateful about our new community tools on the ANAR DANA Patreon Page. We have new material every month: performance videos of ANAR DANA and of me as well as several videos of Cultural Talks you may have missed or want to review. This is a great way to support my work even if you can't attend events.
I look forward to dancing and exploring with you!
