3/25 7:45 p.m.

We made it!!  After nearly 40 hours of travel and crossing 10.5 time zones (yeah, 10.5) we finally arrived at the guest house.  Everyone is fighting to stay awake till this evening to get our bodies adjusted to Kabul time… some are failing miserably.

Naime prepared a festive welcome lunch of Qabli Pilau (look it up), steamed spinach, meatballs, and fresh Naan.  After devouring it, we organized school supplies for the kids and teachers at the new Barek Aub school that we’re hoping to distribute to them personally tomorrow.  We then sorted medical supplies destined for distribution to clinics in Barek Aub, Istalif, and Shaka Dara.

We’ve got a big day planned for tomorrow with our first trip to Barek Aub to see firsthand the growth and development that has taken place in the last few months.  We are also hoping to visit one-on-one with several of the families there.

We’re all thoroughly exhausted from the travel, but couldn’t be more excited about the days ahead!  Please pray for solid rest tonight and renewed strength tomorrow.  Thank you all for your support!
